Delete your NestEgg account

You can delete your NestEgg account and everything synced to it at any time. This page is the full instructions, as required by the App Store and Google Play.

Delete from inside the app

1. Open NestEgg.
2. Go to the Settings tab.
3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm. Your account and synced plan are removed.

You may be asked to sign in again first. Apple, Google and phone sign-in all require a recent login before an account can be deleted, which is what stops someone else doing it from a device you left unlocked.

Delete by email

If you cannot open the app, or you have already removed it, email kaldenficklin@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my NestEgg account”.

• Send it from the email address on the account, or include the phone number you signed in with.
• We verify the request, then delete the account.
• Deletion completes within 30 days, and normally within a few days.

What is deleted

Your authentication record and every value you entered that was synced to it: ages, incomes, savings balances, expenses, net worth, retirement assumptions, your chosen FIRE style, and all saved scenarios. This is removed from Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.

What is kept, and for how long

• Crash diagnostics. Anonymised crash reports already collected by Firebase Crashlytics are retained up to 90 days. They cannot be linked back to you once the account is gone.
• Purchase records. Apple and Google hold the record of any purchase. We never receive or store payment details, and we cannot delete a receipt held by the store. Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Local data on your device. Deleting the account clears the cloud copy. To remove the copy on the device, delete the app.

Deleting the app is not the same thing

Removing NestEgg from your phone deletes the local copy of your plan but leaves the synced copy in place, so it comes back when you sign in on a new device. If you want it gone, use one of the two routes above.

Cancelling Pro

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel pro_monthly in your App Store subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. A lifetime purchase is one-time and has nothing to cancel.
