The short version

NestEgg is a financial-independence planning app. It shows no ads, sells no data, and connects to no bank. You can use the core planner without creating an account at all. The values you type into your plan are never sent anywhere as analytics.

Information you provide

The app stores the planning inputs you enter: age, income, savings balances, expenses, net worth and retirement assumptions. These are used only to calculate and display your projections. They are stored locally on your device, and, if you sign in, synced to your account.

Accounts and sign-in

Sign-in is optional. You can explore the app anonymously and attach an account later. If you do sign in, you can use Sign in with Apple, Google, or your phone number. We receive a user identifier and, depending on the method, an email address or phone number, used only to authenticate you and sync your plan across devices.

Cloud sync

When signed in, your plan is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) so it stays in sync across your devices. Data travels over encrypted connections and is reachable only by your authenticated account. See Firebase Privacy and Security and Google's Privacy Policy.

Diagnostics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and basic diagnostics — device model, OS version, and the state of the app when it crashed. This is used to fix problems and is not used to identify you.

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used: which screens are opened, which features are used, and events such as finishing setup or starting a purchase. These are associated with your account identifier and coarse properties such as free or paid tier.

We do not collect the values you enter into your plan — income, savings, expenses, net worth or projections — as analytics events. We do not use an advertising identifier and do not share this data with advertisers. Analytics is disabled entirely in development builds.

This website

nesteggfire.com uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and calculators people use. It is a separate property from the app's analytics, and the two are not joined up. The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser: the numbers you type are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and nothing is stored when you close the tab.

Google Analytics sets cookies to recognise a returning browser. IP anonymisation is on. You can block it with any content blocker, or with Google's opt-out add-on, and every page and calculator keeps working.

Purchases

NestEgg Pro is a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Data retention and deletion

Local data is removed when you delete the app. If you have an account, you can delete it and all synced data at any time — see Delete your account for the full instructions.

Children

NestEgg is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new date.
